Hallway Lessons

 Hola

This Saturday we had a member lesson scheduled but there was no adult male in the house. As missionaries we can not enter a home without an adult of the same gender. Hermana Arias dragged chairs out to her small hallway and we had a lesson there. Super funny but actually a really good lesson.

Esta semana...
- We went to the South Boston Waterfront and did a couple of phone call lessons there. Super pretty. πŸŒ‰
- Tuesday and Thursday service were both fun although we didn't get any pies this week. πŸ₯§
- There are a lot of sketch triple decker houses here, and we saw a few decks on the second and third stories that looked like they would fall any second. πŸ˜³
- Another District Council in spanish come and gone. πŸ“–
- Zone Pday hoy, we played volleyball and chair soccer. Once again, representing the Stockett Dynasty. ⚽️

This week was quite a humbling experience. At the beginning of the week we dropped all of our friends but one because they were not keeping commitments. It was hard but needed. We didn't find more people to teach until the weekend. But when we did, it was in pretty miraculous ways. Being in the right place at the right time is a real thing. ⏲️ We had 3 amazing member lessons. We put our friend Marlenis on date for June 11, and she came to church.

This week I was studying a few talks by Elder Holland and I stumbled across this quote which I love: "...the first and most important thing he (Christ) may want to know about us when we meet him one day in similar fashion. Did we obey, even if it was painful? Did we submit, even if the cup was bitter indeed? Did we yield to a vision higher and holier than our own, even when we may have seen no vision in it at all?"

I love this because often times when we want to do something that is contrary to a rule or commandment, we do it. Instead of enduring to the end, which we covenant to do. By being disobedient we are breaking covenants, no matter how minor the rule-breaking may seem. But I thank God for repentance because I need to do that every day. I encourage you all to ponder that that quote. πŸ™ƒ

Love y'all

"Not while I'm smoking"

 CΓ³mo estΓ‘is?

We met a young women named Becky, kind of an awkward first couple seconds cause we made eye contact and she was smoking. And then we ended up saying something like want to learn about Jesus Christ. She said,"not while I'm smoking." So she stopped smoking long enough for us to say a prayer. :))

Esta semana:
- We had Zone Conference on Tuesday and the focuses for this transfer are: faith, HTBT, and teaching prayer. President also gave a fire talk about locking your heart and somehow compared sexual desires to riding a horse, bareback, in the Yukon. πŸŽ
- We packed about 15 lamb legs at service. Those things are freaking clubs and I would feel confident taking on Goliath with one of those. πŸ‘
- We also got 4 blueberry pies at service. Needless to say that has been breakfast, lunch and dinner for the past several days. πŸ₯§
- I went on my first 24-hr exchange with my District Leader, E.Nelson. Super funny dude and I got humbled for sure. πŸ˜…
- We found a lot of people to teach this week, thanks to warmer weather. πŸŒž
- We also asked these two younger guys if they wanted to hear about Christ and they said,"Nah we good. We just gonna go smoke some weed." Happens perhaps too often. πŸš
- Tiger. We had the craziest contact with this man we met on the street. We talked about God, Michael the Arc angel, weed, purple drugs, terminator, Hawaii and his dog tiger. Buddy was trying to tell us that he hates his dog but gets mad when other people yell at his dog. It was such a mess and it was like 40 min haha. πŸ…

This week we stopped teaching A LOT of people. We are teaching about 4 people consistently. Lots of people just aren't ready to keep commitments or give their time to the Lord, so we let them know we are here when they want to learn. Kind of sad, but it is what it is. Turns out, that big family that we were teaching a bit ago are actually some members. Which is pretty funny but low-key makes sense. We met this amazing single young mother, Marlenis, who has one kid. But she is willing to learn and change which is so cool to see. We met another man, Marino, who was just chilling outside who said he was looking for a church to help teacg his young daughter about Christ. That was a miracle for sure.

I learned that however hard it is to take criticism or suggestions from people, to be more Christlike means to be humble and accept that you are wrong. Then change. And that is hard.

Con amor

Gathering Israel

 Hola

For title, see the edit below.

This week...
- We saw a beautiful sunset. πŸŒ‡
- Transfers ended on Wednesay, and E.Ifopō and I are staying here. πŸ«‘
- Great service @ The Greater Boston Food Bank with E.Johnson and E.Bennett. πŸ
- First District Council in all Spanish and I actually understood it. That's a dub. 〰️
- We made a video tour of our chapel. πŸ“Ή
- I lined E.Ifopō up. ✂️

We found a super cute family from the DR and we set up a time to come back and teach. We had a lesson with both our new converts, Julieth and Juan. We had another member lesson with Luis who is so nice, reminds me of Grandpa Fox. (Shout-out built in wrestling coach Richard) We also met with Juan, Juan and Milva and they seem like they are progressing but we have been meeting with them for a while and literally talk about the same thing again. We had a bunch of stop-bys set up and when we went to all of these apartment complexes and miraculously all the doors were open.

Something I learned this week is that when we work hard there is still room to have fun doing it!

Love yall
