"He is an experienced gong-ringer"

 Holaaaaa [Helloooooooooooo],

We participated in a service project with over 200 people! We were packaging oatmeal and for every 5,000 packets a gong was rung. There was one little boy that really wanted to and the guy in charge said he looked like an experienced gong-ringer.

Esta semana [This week]:
□ We ate at Texas Roadhouse as a district πŸ‡¨πŸ‡±
□ Service on the farm πŸšœ
□ I made jorts πŸ‘–
□ Interviews with President Brough, that man has changed my life so much πŸ”₯
□ Another intense bloody nose πŸ˜
□ Wedding of Dina y Julio! πŸ’ πŸ₯³

Finding was not successful this week; we also weren't super focused on it because we were planning the wedding and baptism. We had 5/8 friends at church! We didnt meet our goal but five souls at church is so amazing! Dina and Julio got confirmed in Sacrament meeting. My companion and I got to give talks about the natural man and the strait and narrow path! I also got to join a family testimony meeting last night which was really cool and a good reminder of how lucky I am. I was able to see how my brother has changed while at college and he just submitted his mission papers. Call incoming!!

Although these days had so much going on, I had the opportunity to learn more about my Savior and I got to see others how he sees them. It is so very important how we treat others. Focus on being a little kinder this week!

Love y'all,
Elder Stockett

20 years vs. 75 years

Hola a todosss [Hello everyoneeeeeeeee],

Last p-day we were playing pickleball; I've gotten better. Michael, a 75 yr old man pulled up and I was just chilling, so he asked to play so we did. It's was 1-9. I was losing and then came back to beat him 12-10. I haven't heard cuss words like that in a while. πŸ«£

Esta semana [This week]:
  • I got called "too-tall" which brought back a plethora of memories from reading Berenstain Bears as a child. πŸ»
  • Exchanges with the legendary Idaho farm boy, Elder Woodland. πŸ₯”
  • Service was done @ Coogan Farms and the Food bank. πŸ‘¨‍🌾
  • I got to share a short spiritual thought for the whole mission, about always running :)... (lmk [let me know] if you want the details)
  • Completed the papers for Dina and Julios wedding this Saturday!!! πŸ₯³
  • El cumpleaΓ±os de [The birthday of] E.goldsberry was Thursday so we got cake at the home of the Batistas. πŸŽ‚
  • I made some balloons for the kids at the ward talent show. πŸ¦•
6/10 new people found.
8/7 friends at sacrament meeting.
Dina and Julio are doing well, their marriage and baptism is scheduled for this Saturday! Victor is progressing well, we finally had a lesson and we definitely got rid of the fluff. We have 3 lessons a week with him and he is excited to keep learning. Devon's baptism is going to be pushed back a couple of weeks; we don't have a firm date yet. He needs to develop some study habits, like me in college.  [Ok, parental confession: I added that part after the comma.]

This week I had a lot of opportunities to pray for charity. It helps to remember what Jesus would do. And to always remember hwlf [He would love first - and yes, I had to look that up].

1 Nephi 16:23 => This story gets talked about a lot. It is important to note that Nephi was prepared with his new bow AND with his sling. Preparation is key. Those six extra words (with a sling and with stones) were written for a reason.

Hola a todos [Hello everyone] !!

We have a member in our ward that needs to make a nickname to remember our names so naturally I am Elder Sprocket and my companion is Elder Dingleberry. πŸ«

Esta semana [This week]:
▪︎ Zone Conference was this week and it was very uplifting and I definitely received things I can work on. Transfer focus: Diligence πŸ’ͺ
▪︎ I got called "chunky" by an STL [Sister Training Leader] πŸ˜‘
▪︎ I saw a friend get baptized that I taught in Boston! πŸŒŠ
▪︎ I got to do manual labor again. Digging trenches. That was sooo fun except for the seven blisters I received πŸ˜…
▪︎ Dedicated a house with Bishop! πŸ‘
▪︎ Had a lesson with a best friend from high school! πŸ˜Ž
▪︎ Our bathroom is falling apart. SMH [Not Spanish, but... Shaking My Head] πŸ›€
▪︎ A man told us he outgrew God. ☹️
▪︎ Got marriage license papers at City Hall. [Dad Note: Since we didn't talk about this in our last conversation, I'm hoping this is for someone else?!?!?]πŸ’

This week we found more than 0 people!! We found 7 people and we had 7 friends at church. Sadly none of the friends we found came to church, but that's OK because there is always next week. Devon's baptism is getting pushed back two weeks, we still have principles to teach. Dina y Julio are getting married and baptized on the 27th! Tina and Victor aren't looking so hot right now so we will be praying the Spirit touches them.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to share my testimony in sacrament meeting. I shared a favorite scripture, D&C 84:88. Read it. That promise applies to everyone that acts under the authority of the priesthood - which means anyone who has been baptized. We can have Him to be with us but we have to work. There is no middle ground when it comes to committing to Christ. Try and be 1% more committed this week; I promise it's worth it.

I also had the opportunity to talk to a missionary (at Zone Conference) that I love dearly. We talked about sacrifice and he shared with me something that he recently sacrificed. I am very proud of him especially because I know how much that meant to him. There is not another missionary in this mission that I have a stronger connection to. I'm proud of you. πŸ€©πŸ˜˜

Send me something I can pray for. I'm praying for all of you anyway so give me something specific plz πŸ™
