Que tal?!
So we got to a lesson early and while doing contacts in the car some highschooler ran in front of us and mooned us :) the good Ole days. Then in a lesson on exchanges I had a 6 year old girl ask me why there were so many pimples on my forehead LOL. E. Maw turned to me and said get roasted. RIP my dignity.
Anyway it's catch-up time (lo siento)
- We got transfer news about two weeks ago and now I have been in Boston for two weeks with my new comp, E. Cottrell.
- Funny moment during a lesson was I thought this lady, Yakary, asked me to say the prayer so I started saying it the same time she did. SOO awkward and I was freaking embarrassed.
- I'm now living in the most expensive apartment in the mission not to flex on yall but I probably won't live anywhere this nice again.
- Last Sunday we had high counselors give talks and they knew English and Mandarin so they had to have a translator which was cool to see both those cultures coming together.
- We have had the fire alarm go off twice now, once at 6:45 am and the other at about 7:30am the following day. Like bruh what y'all doing in the kitchen??
- I got to help some guy figure out how to leave the subway cause he didn't know English and was trying to talk to a worker. So I translated for him and we got him out.
- Yesterday I got to throw a football around with a couple of younger kids for a second and before I left they said when they get to the NFL they want me to be their QB. That would be a dream but sadly I don't think I'm good enough for that.
- Lastly, we pulled up to a referral we got and it was definitely the wrong address but we talked to this guy named AJ, probably about my age and he was so funny and was surprised two white guys were proselytizing in Dorchester. Then we ran into him like 5 min later coming back down the steps and he said he would pray with us if we did 100 push-ups. And well he wanted E. Cottrell to do them and sadly he is half paralyzed but he still cranked out 26 which is insane. I did a few more and we got to say a prayer with them but it was soo funny and gave me some motivation to do some more push-ups. Just in case that ever happens again HA.
OK so this area has been way different than Marlboro but I put my first people on date! Julieth and Juan. They are from Columbia and are so amazing. We have been trying to meet with some other people with not a ton of luck. We are working with an inactive member, Andy and he is the most humble man I've ever met and I can't wait to see him at church. Then there is Maria, she speaks English and is the sweetest soul. She tries so hard to invite God into her life and home and she is going through so many health and family struggles. She has been a huge example for me of enduring to the end.
Hasta la próxima!
