Platinum vs Premium

 Hola a todos

Earlier this week, in Boston, we were explaining expectations for after baptism. We are supposed to teach the same lessons that were taught before. The way my wonderful companion Elder Ifopō explained it was before the baptism is the premium version and after baptism is the platinum version.

Esta semana...

- I had the opportunity to teach the law of chastity to a 13 year old. 😅
- One of our friends told us that the law of chastity is part of the WOW. We let her keep that one. Why not? 🤷‍♂️
- Some sad goodbyes to some friends and E.Johnson the goat. 🐐
- As you all know, I was transferred to Lynn, MA. Which is about thirty minutes north of Boston and full of Guatemalans. 🇬🇹
- We were walking the streets of Lynn, with my new comp, Elder Bouton, and someone started screaming at us saying "Freak the police". I'm assuming they thought we were police. But for all you police out there, I love you. ❤️
- Sitting on a bench in a field and calling your teaching pool is fun. Then you look to your right and there are two young teenagers just sprawled over the bench making out at like 4. We love that. Sadly we didn't talk to them, next time tho. 👍

Our teaching pool is super big here in Lynn, there will definitely be some fine-tuning this next week. My first lesson here we put our friend Michael on date for baptism, and then passed him off to the Haitan Creole sisters. We are also teaching Petula, who is also Haitan but speaks Spanish. She pulled up to church on Sunday! We are teaching another guy named Kennet who is my age, and he asked God to help him read the whole Book of Mormon! Let's gooooo. Can't ask for more than that. Starts with the desire to do good.

This last week I have been studying D&C and the Old Testament and because I understand the Old Testament so well... I'm going to share a thought on D&C. I was reading about a certain man's reaction to not being able to do something he wanted. He desired to do something, and do it well and instantly. As humans we have all felt that at times, some more than others :)  But when he was chastised, by God no less, his response was to humbly follow his leaders. I can attest that this is hard. Very hard. But I have seen the blessings and now that it is worth the pain. Especially if we think long term, pain will never last forever. We know that after this life we will be resurrected in perfect form, without pain. Who wouldn't want that? The solution is to endure to the end. Do the best you can with what you are given. A rule from preschool: "You get what you get and don't throw a fit." Simple concept but can be frustrating at times. So as grandpa would say, "Stop whining." Get to work, this life wasn't created to do easy things. We were made to push ourselves and learn.

Sorry for the rant.

Love y'all
